Let’s empower Sustainability-Driven Entrepreneurs(hip)

Johanna Bernhardt graduated in Business Education and Geography at University of Innsbruck. Her professional career she started as a consultant for start ups. Later she worked for the Standortagentur Tirol (Business Location Agency Tyrol) as consultant for regional development and science-business cooperations. Currently she works for Terra Institute, Brixen as coordinator of the RCE (Regional Competence Centre for Education on Sustainable Development) European Region Tyrol and project manager of the project CASE.

Jan Činčera is Associate Professor at the Department of Environmental Studies, Faculty of Social Studies at Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic. He focuses on environmental education theory, research, and instructional strategies. His main interest lies in analyzing instructional strategies that help achieve the goals of environmental education. He is the author of a set of nationally certified guidelines for program evaluation. He cooperates with environmental education centers in the Czech Republic and other countries. In the CASE project he was responsible for evaluation of the both process and outputs of the project.

Michal Medek – apart of being director of the Kapraluv mlyn environmental education centre, Michal teaches environmental education and heritage interpretation at two faculties of Masaryk University, Brno. Heritage interpretation became his main field of academical interest as it connects his passion for natural history (MSc. in geography, biology and geology) and humanities (MA environmental humanities). Endowed with PgCert from University of Highlands and Islands Michal is pioneering the field in the Czech Republic as director of the Czech Institute for Heritage Interpretation.

Marco Rieckmann is Professor of Higher Education Development at the University of Vechta, Germany. He holds a doctoral degree in educational research. His major research and teaching interests are: higher education, competence development and assessment, (higher) education for sustainable development, and global education. He is the Vice-President of the Commission ‘Education for Sustainable Development’ of the German Educational Research Association (GERA), Representative of GERA in the Council of the European Educational Research Association (EERA), and Member of the Convenors Group of the EERA Network ‘Environmental and Sustainability Education Research‘.

Johan Boman is since 2011 professor in atmospheric science at University of Gothenburg, with special focus on air and life quality in urban areas in developing countries. Johan also works with education for sustainable development at the Science faculty and at the Centre for Environment and Sustainability.

Petra Biberhofer is a lecturer and research assistant at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, Department for Socioeconomics since 2012. She studied political science at University of Vienna and Uppsala University, Sweden. In her current work at the Institute for Ecological Economics/RCE Vienna and her PhD, she focuses on the promotion of learning processes through transdisciplinary learning platforms at the interface between science and society. Her research interests are (higher) education for sustainable development, transformative education, sustainability-oriented entrepreneurship as well as competence-based teaching and learning processes and methods.

Michael Ambros is working in teaching and educational development for sustainable entrepreneurship at the Centre for Global Change and Sustainability at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna. He has over ten years of professional experience in a multinational company in the automotive industry and in the Fair Trade sector. Due to his activities in business development and general management he is a proficient coach for students with ideas. He is passionate about creating an appropriate environment for motivated people enabling them to develop their ideas into viable business models.

Ester Konarova is a project administrator at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. She manages the administration part of project CASE. She has been managing NGO’s and researcher’s projects (Erasmus +, EEA and Norway Grants, The Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, etc.) for 3 years. She has been interested in social entrepreneurship since her University studies and participated in two social business projects – Bajkazyl and Symbios – running in Brno. Her diploma thesis was focused on measuring the benefits of social entrepreneurship.

Josef Sedlak is a social entrepreneur, moderator and project manager for CASE. He has been working as a trainer for sustainable entrepreneurs for many years, started in 2016 two social enterprises and is now the project manager for CASE.

Claudia Lindner is a Junior Professor of Sociology at the Free University of Bolzano, Faculty of Education. She studied Social Science at the Free University of Bolzano and at Ca’Foscari University of Venice, Italy. She wrote her dissertation on migrant entrepreneurship and graduated in 2015 at the Free University of Bolzano. Her research interests are sustainable development, transformative science, migrant entrepreneurship and sustainable socio-economic integration of refugees.

Mara Bauer is an environmental scientist and a research assistant at the University of Vechta in North-West Germany. She holds a Master’s degree in Human Ecology from Lund University. Her general research interest is in sustainability and environmental politics. Currently she focuses on sustainability governance within higher education institutions.

Susanne Elsen is Professor for Sociology at the Free University of Bolzano. Studies in Socialwork, Sociology, Educational Sciences and Economics, PhD University of Trier, Habilitation Technical University of Dresden. She has research- and development experiences in the field of community development and local economy in Europe, Asia and Latin America.Her main topics of research: Social Innovation, Local Development and Community Economy, Sustainability and Post Growth Society.

Bohuslav Binka is the head of Department of Environmental Studies at Faculty of Social Studies (Masaryk University), completed a semester-long study stay at the Catholic University in the United States and a semester-long research stay at Glasgow University in Scotland. The winner of the Josef Vavroušek Prize in the category of science and research work (for his dissertation) awarded by the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University in Prague and the Petra and Josef Vavroušek Foundation. He works on environmental ethics and the history of environmental movements. He is the author of the publications Environmentální etika [Environmental ethics] and co-author of John Ruskin a příroda [John Ruskin and Nature] (2011).

Gabriela Schaad PhD Gabriela Schaad is a researcher and lecturer at the School of Business, Economics and Law in Gothenburg, Sweden, since 2012. Her research and teaching interests include environmental strategies and sustainable management with a focus on industrial transitions towards renewable energy and technology. In the CASE project she has mainly worked with the evaluation of the pilot courses and cooperation formats.
