Let’s empower Sustainability-Driven Entrepreneurs(hip) – Final CASE Event

From 8.11.-10.11.2017 the CASE knowledge alliance met for the final project event at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU). About 70 guests from 10 different countries participated at the public event on 9.11 certified as an ecoevent and supported with a microfund by the Copernicus Alliance.

Stefan Pichler Vice Rector for Research (WU) welcomed all guests and Manuela Fried from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (Department Head European Higher Education Area) started the day with her input on “ERASMUS+ and Higher Education Policy – Added Value of University Business Cooperation”. In an inpsiring keynote we learned from Bettina Steinbrugger, CEO and Founder of the sustainability-driven company erdbeerwoche GmbH, how it is to be an sustainability-driven entrepreneur in practice. After a coffeebreak core results of the CASE project were presented and dicussed interactively with the audience in 4 different corners (See Posters).

Discussion on CASE results

Ilse Stockinger (Wiener Stadtwerke), Rudolf Dömötör (WU), Sara Landstroem (UNIDO), Theresa Imre (markta) and Marco Rieckmann (Vechta University) discussed in an interactive panel on “The Future of Learning for Sustainability-driven Entrepreneurship”. The panelists shared their views on important competencies and the creation of transdisciplinary learning environments. Finally a deeper insight into the CASE project was offerend in different workshops in the afternoon. The event ended with a networking session. Drinks and snacks were served from Brotpiloten, an austrian start-up offering catering services with bakery products which would have been thrown away.
